Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald charged the parents with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, each in the deaths of the four classmates who Ethan Crumbley shot, 15, on Friday.
The pair went missing after the accusations were publicized. Following their absence, Smith and Lehman issued a statement to the Detroit Free Press defending their clients, stating that they were not on the run and would turn themselves in to be charged.
For their protection, the Crumbleys fled the town on the night of the horrific incident. They’re heading back to the area to be prosecuted. According to the attorney, despite recent media claims, they are not fleeing law police.
