Mai Do Burrous is an American WAG who is known as the wife to Chris Burrows. Her story began at the end of April 1975; when the Vietnam War was finally over. Mai was just 2 at the time and to her, this was just the beginning. She, along with her mother, had made her way to Saigon, eager to escape from the Vietnamese communist power that would be taking over shortly.

According to the documentary titled Mai Do-Burrous: Escape From Vietnam, her mother cried when they finally boarded a plane to Guam courtesy of two US Marines who recognized her when they saw her at the airport desperate to find a ride out of Vietnam. Mai was reunited with her father, Sang Do, and they began a new life in Cleveland, Ohio. They became nationalized and moved to Northridge near Los Angeles. Mai grew up to become a reporter and she met her late husband in the first station she worked for, KGET.
