Madosini Cause Of Death
Following three heart attacks that began in 2019 while on tour in France, Madosini, as she was popularly known, passed away from renal failure. Madosini was admitted earlier this month to Life St. Mary’s Hospital in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, where she passed away on Friday.
“She had two COVID-19 attacks, and then she developed what we call scleroderma, one of the diseases that affect the skin, which led to complications that attracted double pneumonia, leading to shortness of breath,” her nephew, Thami Songabe, explains. Later on, this resulted in cardiac failure; in other words, cardiovascular failure led to renal failure, which ultimately led to her death.”
Madosini performed until her death all over the world. Her work drew listeners deep into the musical wellsprings and showcased some of the earliest African jazz foundations.
