Maddie Poppe, a child of Trent and Tonya Poppe who was reared in Clarksville, Iowa, has always enjoyed singing. She regularly amused her family, but she didn’t begin openly displaying her talents until middle school.
After graduating from Clarksville High School in 2016, Poppe pursued her education at Iowa Central Community College and then Hawkeye Community College.
She hails from a musical family because her father is a guitarist and musician. She even frequently performed at the Pioneer Days festival with him and his band.
Poppe’s singing career indeed took off when she started performing at the Butler County Fairgrounds in Allison, Iowa. Before she became well-known as a vocalist, she also worked as a stagehand at the county fair, setting up equipment for performers.
When asked about moments when she chose to focus on getting work over paying attention in class, Poppe recalled saying she was against settling for things she didn’t like to do. More than fame itself, she cherishes longevity and the unadulterated joy of playing and being involved in music.
