Madden 24 new announcers are not announced. EA Sports decided to stick with commentators Charles Davis and Brandon Gaudin.
The duo of Davis and Gaudin entered the commentary box of the game via Madden 17. Davis is the analyst while Gaudin provides the play-by-play voice.
Phil Simmons, Cris Collinsworth, and John Madden voiced for the analyst before Charles.
Similarly, five others have voiced for the play-by-play announcer, including:
- Jim Nantz
- Gus Johnson
- Tom Hammond
- Al Michaels
- Pat Sumemrall
Charles and Brandon have received a massive hit in recent years on various online communities. Fans want freshness and are tired of the same commentary which has lasted for seven years.
Redditors have been demanding EA to change the pair. Many think that the gaming company’s script made them sound boring in the game while they are not bad in real life.
With the new edition of the game, we will see the return of mini-games, the introduction of Superstar mode, new relocation destinations, and other changes, but the commentary remains the same.

It does not mean, they have done a satisfying job. For the last five editions or so, fans have been crying out loud to see monumental changes in the game.
The buggy nature, the same old rustic modes, and lack of creativity have let down fans’ expectations.
Clutch Points revealed some of the PlayStation ratings for the game:
- Madden 23: 1.4/10 (208 ratings)
- Madden 22: 0.6/10 (524 ratings)
- Madden 21: 0.3/10 (5,799 ratings)
- Madden 20: 1.4/10 (632 ratings)
- Madden 19: 2/10 (265 ratings)
The last time, the fan approval crossed 5 was with Madden 16.
It is the same old story from the company. The ‘now or never’ approach is merely a marketing technique to entice the overall atmosphere and bring people to the edge of their seats.
The beta testing reaction for Madden 24 was mostly negative and people complained about generic face scans and called the game ‘clunky.’
It will be interesting to see if the developers pull out a rabbit from the hat and deliver big and can match the expectations or not.
What Year Did The First Madden Come Out?
The first Madden came out as John Madden Football in 1988. Legendary football coach and sports commentator John Madden appeared on the cover of the game.
The game itself was named after John. He is the person to appear most times on the game’s cover.
A homage was paid to the fantastic personality in 2022 by making him appear in all editions of Madden 23.
Due to proper licensing, the first Madden game lacked actual team names and players’ likenesses.
The series got the name Madden NFL in 1993 after EA closed a deal with NFL to use real team and player names. Since then, many star players including Ray Lewis, Drew Brees, Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., Vince Young, and many more.
Madden 24 Cross Platform Franchise Mode
Madden 24 cross platform will not work in franchise mode. The cross-play feature will work in Head-to-Head, MUT, Superstar KO, and Showdown.
An official announcement has not been made regarding the cross-play feature for the franchise mode.
But, Connor Dougan, EA Tiburon senior design director, in an interview with GameSpot, said:
“We’re super pumped about cross-play coming to Madden … we want to make sure that when we release cross-play in Franchise mode, we do it right. And so, no, it will not be in Madden at launch, but we have people working on it now. And we hope to release it at some point in the future, before next year’s Madden, we hope.”
It is evident that the team is trying its best to make it available for franchise mode and hopefully the fans will get to experience it in the upcoming version.
One thing is certain that cross-play feature allows players from different platforms to match against each other. Players using PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox X|S can enjoy the feature in the aforementioned modes.
