The Ostrich Farm has been supplying Kenya and other countries with meat, feathers, skins and livestock since 1991 . Set in 200 acres of rolling grasslands, the Maasai Ostrich Resort is located at the farm, near Athi River and the Kitengela Piains.
The resort has 40 rooms, made up of single, doubles and family cottages, surrounded by gardens. The restaurant serves an international buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner‘ Guests can choose from the a Ia carte menu of Italian, Indian, Chinese and African dishes if they prefer. The Mbuna Choma Ranch serves grilied meats in the garden around the pool. The specialty is, of course, char-grilled ostrich, famous for its low cholesterol. The bar has a TV showing sports and news. The 4 conference rooms can accommodate between 15 and 150 people and are ideal for seminars, workshops, weddings, conventions and social and cultural events. The conference rooms are equipped with state of the art audio visual equipment, including PA systems, projectors and WiFi.
Activities include a tour of the ostrich farm, and riding ostriches. A resident naturalist is available to take guests on game walks and bird walks. Game drives in Nairobi National Park can also be arranged.
