Luke William McGregor is an Australian comedian, writer, and actor who has appeared in many TV shows himself, including the ABC series Utopia and Rosehaven.
McGregor grew up in Hobart, Tasmania, and attended Dominic College and the University of Tasmania, where he studied law, philosophy, teaching, and physics for seven years before graduating with a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Economics degree. McGregor worked for Centrelink and Medicare after graduation, among other things.
He was 25 years old when he went to a comedy show with a friend, got up on stage, and spoke for about five minutes. Other comedians urged him to keep going.
McGregor appeared in RMITV’s flagship production Studio A until its final season in 2011.
McGregor appeared as a guest on Dirty Laundry Live in 2014.
In 2013, he won Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for his show My Soulmate is Out of My League. The show received a four-star rating in a review published in the Herald Sun. He’s also done shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
