Buddy was played by Lucas York Black in Aaron Schneider’s independent drama film “Get Low” (2009). In addition, he performed the role of Jeep Hanson in the fantasy thriller “Legion” (2010) with a Biblical theme and the role of Luke Chisholm, a promising young golfer who aspires to play on the professional tour, in the independent golf movie “Seven Days in Utopia” (2010).
Black played Brooklyn Dodgers shortstop Pee Wee Reese in the drama movie “42” from 2013. Black considered the filming process “much more enjoyable” since it allowed him to reflect on his own playing days, drawing on his prior expertise in sports films and his own athletic background.
He also valued the chance to work with a group once more and enjoy the camaraderie of his fellow performers.
Black was cast as NCIS Special Agent LaSalle, a devoted agent noted for his no-nonsense style and “work hard, play hard” ethos, in the television series “NCIS: New Orleans” in 2014.
