Poe completed her high school education at Colegio San Agustin in Makati, graduating in 2007. She went on to study at Miriam College and the International Academy of Management and Economics.
Poe was chosen by an international singing duo titled Same Same in 2006 to perform the song “Without You,” which is featured on the duo’s debut album “The Meaning of Happy.” She was then cast in the youth drama Love to Love alongside Cogie Domingo.
Her big break came when she played Kristal Maisog in the 2006 blockbuster drama Bakekang. Sunshine Dizon, her co-star, encouraged her to pursue a career as an actress.
She was also said to have considered proposals from GMA’s rival network ABS-CBN before accepting GMA’s offer to cast Poe in the new sitcom Show Me, Da Manny. She was a regular host of GMA’s Sunday noontime variety shows Party Pilipinas from 2010 until 2012.
