In an announcement posted on the Channel 9 dating show’s official Instagram page, the couple revealed that COVID border closures were significant in their breakup.
Courtney told 9Entertainment, ‘We had a profound connection, but being separated from each other and being as fragile as we were has caused us to drift apart.’
‘He won’t be able to visit the Gold Coast, and I won’t be able to visit Melbourne without returning home.’ We had a lot of problems because of the border closures,’ she stated.
Noah, however, agreed, saying, ‘It does suck, and it’s miserable because I believe we get along well.’ It’s difficult to time things right now.’
‘I still like him, and nothing has changed in that regard, but we were so fragile because I’m on the Gold Coast and he’s in Melbourne that it simply wasn’t working.’
Courtney went on to say that while it wasn’t ideal that she had to make a statement about their split, she felt obligated to do so because of their devoted supporters.
‘We don’t know what will happen in the future at this time, but we are simply friends,’ she continued.
Noah further stated that the couple’s decision to end their relationship was a mutual one.
‘I simply wanted to confirm that Courtney and I have chosen to separate.’
‘She was an incredible person who will forever be a part of my life and my Love Island experience.’ He went on to say, ‘I wish her nothing but the best.’
After being dumped just before the grand final, Courtney and Noah were among the last remaining couples in the competition.
