Birgit Rausing net worth: Birgit Rausing is a Swedish art historian and philanthropist who has a net worth of $13 billion dollars. Birgit Rausing was born in Vaud, Switzerland, though the year is listed controversially, either as 1919 or 1920. Rausing’s father, Henry Mayne, who lived from 1891 until 1975, was well known for his landscape paintings. Rausing married Gad Rausing, with whom she had three children, Kristen, Finn, and Jorn. The couple remained married until Gad’s death in 2000. Gad is best known for his ownership of the packing conglomerate company, Tetra Pak, which is the largest food packing company in the world. Founded by his father, Gad inherited half of the company when his father passed away. He then went on to purchase the other half, running it under his sole ownership. According to Forbes Magazine, Rausing is the third wealthiest person in Sweden, which was listed in 2010. She falls behind her brother-in-law, Hans Rausing, who is listed as number two. Rausing helped donate a large amount of funds toward The Lahore University of Management Sciences’s library, which has since been renamed Gad & Birgit Rausing Library. It was dedicated in 2011, after it was noted that the donation was to be used for educational purposes.
