Maglio began his career at KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1977. Lou was a reporter at KCRG from 1977 to 1980. Additionally, Lou has also worked as a reporter and producer at WFMY-TV in Greensboro, in New York City. Lou was at WFMY-TV from 1980 to 1981.
After working at WFMY-TV, Lou joined WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. At WFMY-TV, Lou worked as an anchor from 1981 to 1984. After working at WEWS-TV, Lou joined WJW-TV, FOX8 News in 1994. He began working as an anchor and reporter.
