The 1999 murder of Lorainne “Lorie” Kirkley, a nurse from Valparaiso, Indiana, who was kidnapped, tortured, and killed by her employer David Malinski, is still the subject of several inquiries.
The search for Lorie Kirkley after she vanished from her home in 1999 was a race against time for the detectives.
The case received a lot of local media attention as a result of an odd break-in at her home and the kidnapper’s alleged unusual note-leaving.
Sadly, despite the lack of a corpse being discovered at the time of the trial, the investigation’s conclusion led to Lori’s killer being found guilty.
Lorie Kirkley Murder Update In 2022
Age 34 at the time of her disappearance was Lorie Kirkley. She and Robert Kirkley had been married and living in Valparaiso, Indiana. Those who knew Lori thought highly of her.
She was a high school valedictorian who was employed as a cardiac rehabilitation nurse at a nearby hospital.
They were preparing to relocate to South Bend, Indiana, where Robert had recently accepted a job, and they were also considering establishing a family. But that opportunity would never come to the pair.
On July 24, Lorie’s burned-out automobile was discovered in a cornfield, but she was nowhere to be seen. Nearly six years later, in September 2005,
Lorie was discovered buried on a farm and covered with a thick black plastic bag and a brown sheet. The results of an autopsy proved that Lorie had been strangled.
The police were looking for Lorie when they discovered another piece of information that made them think she could have been murdered.
Where Is David Malinski Now?
In addition to allegations of murder, vehicle theft, arson, criminal imprisonment, and criminal deviant behavior, David Malinski was found guilty of two counts of burglary.
He was ordered to spend 155 years behind bars. David confessed to the murder almost six years after Lori vanished after informing the police that he had become a born-again Christian while inside.
He took them to her body, which had been discovered buried on his relatives’ land. David is still detained at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana, according to prison records. He can only be released from prison as early as July 2076.
As of 2022, It has not yet been reported that David Malinski, who was just freed from prison, killed Lorie Kirkley. However, we were of the opinion that even if he were freed from prison, he would have obtained a new identity.
Malinski made an attempt to prove that he had been having a consensual affair with Kirkley and that everything leading up to her disappearance was part of a complex scheme to leave a supposedly miserable marriage.
His lies, however, didn’t hold water with the police, and the case against him grew stronger.
What Happened To Lorie Kirkley?
According to reports, Lorie Kirkley was slain, and her murderer expressed regret. The letter claimed that Lorie had refused to cooperate and bit the assailant’s finger when he attempted to cover her lips.
One of Lorie’s shoes was also discovered there by the police. The killer was still at large, and the police were now reportedly investigating a possible homicide.
A lady who went to the police with information that her husband had perpetrated the crime provided a break in the case. The Kirkleys’ residence had the missing things. The investigators then focused on David Malinski as a consequence.
The 34-year-old was a coworker of Lorie’s. When questioned, David confessed to breaking into the Kirkleys’ home in the past when there was a homemade valentine and a sexually graphic photo placed there.
