It sounds like the worried and devastated words of a mother who has just awoken to discover their darling child has vanished. Angharad Williamson’s horrifying phone conversation to police, made just hours after her son was slain and left in a river, was nothing more than a staged performance.
When he was discovered in a South Wales river last July, the little boy had 56 external injuries. Ben Mwangi, Logan’s father, was in court to hear the jury’s verdicts.

Williamson, her partner John Cole, and a juvenile defendant who cannot be identified for legal reasons were convicted guilty of the murder of her five-year-old son Logan Mwangi, whose body was discovered in the River Ogmore in Bridgend, only yards from her home.
In shocking footage captured by a neighbor’s CCTV camera, Cole and the juvenile dragged Logan’s body from Williamson’s home at 5 Lower Llansantffraid, Sarn, in the early hours of July 31, 2021.
Williamson claimed she had no knowledge of her son’s death and was ready to be fly-tipped like garbage, but the game was up.
Despite claiming to have dozed through the night while her partner and the adolescent disposed of Logan’s body, Williamson was spotted moving around in Logan’s room, with the lights on and off while Cole and the juvenile were gone.
Williamson sent them back out after they returned to dispose of Logan’s dinosaur pyjama top, which had been ripped during an assault.

The investigation will also look into what was previously known about John Cole’s background. His violent past has now been disclosed, including a previous attack on a youngster, and he is reported to have been interested in the National Front.
Cole despised Logan’s resemblance to his original father, who is of Kenyan descent, according to the court, implying that racism may have played a role in his feelings toward Logan.
His body was discovered to be bruised, scraped, and scratched from head to toe, with more than 50 injury locations – and many more individual injuries – noted throughout the examination.
His brain, liver, and stomach had all been damaged. Rees predicted that his death would be slow and agonizing.

Angharad Williamson, 30, her boyfriend, John Cole, 40, and a 14-year-old boy were all found guilty of the same crime.
After killing Logan, the three defendants planned to “clean up the scene and put a trail in location to lead the police up the wrong road,” according to the prosecutor.
She said that before the murder, Williamson, 30, and Cole, 40, collaborated to hide Logan’s injuries from social workers and the police, including an arm injury and a neck burn.
