The Bears-Lions rivalry has been ongoing for 187 matches since 1930. Chicago leads the series 104-78-5.

Likewise, they encountered each other eighteen times on Turkey Day. The Bears were 10-8.

Chicago also won the November 25, 2021, meeting with a two-point margin. The final score was 16-14.

The game started well for the home team, who were 7-0 after the 1st quarter. But, the tides turned in the 2nd quarter when the visitors scored 13-7.

The Lions led in the 3rd quarter with a T.J. Hockenson 17-yard touchdown. It was almost a win for them, but the field goal right at the dying moments of the final quarter gave the game to the visiting team.

Lions-Packers Rivalry

As mentioned earlier, Detroit has already played 83, and the 2023 fixture will be their 84th game on Turkey Day. This tradition started in 1934 and has been going strongly in its 89th year.

The Lions did not participate in the 1939 and 1940 Turkey Day matches. The next four years (1941 to 1944) were the World War II period because of which no Thanksgiving games were hosted.

Their meeting with the Packers is a continuation of the Lions-Packers rivalry. It commenced in 1930 when the Lions were Portsmouth Spartans.

Green Bay dominated the first encounter as they thrashed the Spartans 47-13.

The Lions-Packers’ head-to-head record is 105 wins for the Packers, 76 for the Lions, and seven draws.

They will be meeting on the national holiday after a decade. The last time they faced each other was on November 28, 2013. Detroit dominated the games and won 40-10.

Commanders-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day History

Like the Lions, the Cowboys have hosted an annual Thanksgiving match since 1966. They have played 55, where they were victorious in 32, lost 22, and tied 1.

The customary Dallas game against Washington is their 11th meeting. The Cowboys are 8-2.

The Commanders-Cowboys rivalry goes back to 1960 when the Commanders (then Redskins) won the contest 26-14.

Since then, they have faced each other 126 times. Dallas has won 76, while Washington recorded 48 victories. They drew twice.

The two met last time on the 8th of January, 2023, where the Commanders scored 26 compared to the 6 points scored by the Cowboys.

The 2023 encounter favors Dallas, who are 11-point favorites on the spread.
