Kaikai began by filling in as a reporter at KTN until June 1999 when he decided to quit for South African Broadcasting Corporation, where he spent almost 8 years rising through the ranks from correspondent to Bureau chief.

He then returned to KTN in 2007 as the Managing Editor in charge of Quality and Product Development. After 2 years, he took up for his current posting at NTV.

Linus Kaikai And Emmy Kosgei

Despite the fact that Linus Kaikai is one of the top richest journalists we have in Kenya, he has made both friends and enemies over time. Just like most public personalities in Kenya, who bring about controversies he has had some beef within the entertainment industry, with Emmy Kosgei, who it was said she was in a relationship with but broke up with sources indicating that the songstress broke up with him with claims that he had nine women in his love life and nine children.

The most shocking thing is that according to Emmy Kosgei, some of the women were his colleagues and she got to know the true identity of who she was about to marry when Kaikai and his friends were involved in an accident in 2012.

It was for all these reasons that the gospel singer wondered how irresponsible he was, so she left him and went ahead to marry the Nigerian pastor. The news spreading all over and becoming the “food for the internet”, Kaikai was not pleased by it, and so he too started spreading gossip about Emmy and the Nigerian pastor whom she was to marry.

Linus Kaikai Leaves NTV

After Kaikai joined NTV from KTN in 2009, he served as the NTV General Manager. However, on the 23rd of February 2018, Linus was handed his termination letter in a new twist to the drama he had been playing at Nation Centre.

He was seen that Monday at Nation Centre casually dressed and appeared to be in the process of clearing with management. Archives managers from the NMG library were also seen busy working on his office computers.

Signs of him leaning the station became very clear when Nation Media Group (NMG) Editor-in-Chief Tom Mshindi recently effected editorial changes during which he promoted Pamela Asigi to the position of NTV Editor with a caveat that she would be reporting directly to him. Not stopping there, Kaikai’s long-serving personal secretary was redeployed to Mshindi’s office.

However, Kakikai’s departure from Nation Centre came as it was conclusively established that he was to take over from Farida Karoney as Royal Media Services Chief Operations Officer following her appointment as Lands Cabinet Secretary. Two weeks earlier, BT reported that he was set to leave Nation Centre but Linus on receiving the news, alerted an online publication that he would not be leaving NTV.

Linus Kaikai And Pastor Nganga

In March 2019, it was announced that Neno Evangelism Ministries Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’ a, who threatened to kill Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai, had been arrested and was charged with incitement to violence and disobedience of the law.

The pastor was picked up from his church at the junction of Haile Sellasie Avenue and Uhuru Highway and was locked up at Muthaiga police station. This happened after Kaikai had complained he felt threatened by video footage that the pastor had produced attacking him. The court’s magistrate ordered him to be released on a cash bail of Sh200,000, pending the mention of the case on April 3, 2019

Linus Kaikai Kicker

Upon the release of Kenya’s hard-hitting, spoken word, Wajinga Nyinyi, by the Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima whose stage name is King Kaka, many Kenyans reacted on their social media, including other Kenyan artists, and media personalities, like Linus Kaikai who describes the song as it a near insult.

The spoken word largely stated what every conscious Kenyan knows: from the poor state of the economy to corruption, and divisive politics to false election promises. Additionally, it called out Kenyans for being so blind about their situation and for being so forgetful – “amnesia” as Kaka called it. According to Linus, millions of Kenyans agreed with King Kaka, but he concluded to say that that was not enough.

“It is not enough to just agree and to lament: Lamentations do nothing beyond perhaps drawing a tiny speck of sympathy from your tormentors. Kenyans must not just lament, they must do something: they must draw the proverbial line in the sand and reject what in the rappers’ words, the systematic destruction of their country.”
