Nobody Won the Game Of Thrones Finale More Than Sweet Robin Arryn

Daenerys got the rawest of deals during Game of Thrones’ final season, but other than that, most of our heroes met pretty happy ends in the show’s series finale. Bran somehow wound up king of pretty much everything, while Sansa rules over a seceded North and Arya got her hands on a ship and sailed off into the sunset. Tyrion, the world’s worst advisor, somehow ended up Hand to yet another monarch, and though Jon was banished to the freezing Night’s Watch, he’s been known to have a pretty good time beyond the Wall.

But things worked especially well for Sweet Robin Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie and Defender of the Vale, who surprised Thrones fans with his impressive glow up. Robin is the cousin of Sansa, Arya, and Bran, the son of their kooky aunt, Lysa Tully, and her husband, Jon Arryn, the Hand to King Robert Baratheon whose death served as the motivating incident behind the entire show. Played by British-Brazilian actor Lino Facioli, the now 18-year-old was just a kid when he first appeared in Season One in 2011.

When we first met him, the wildly overprotective Lysa was still breastfeeding the kid, though he was already grade school-aged. She’s the one who called him “Sweet Robin,” and the little guy’s major interest appeared to be tossing folks to their death from the heights of their mountainous castle’s Moon Door. When Catelyn Stark brought Tyrion to the Eyrie as her prisoner, little Robin stopped suckling just long enough to let his mom know that he wanted “to see the bad man fly.”

We last spotted him in Season Six, and while Robin definitely seemed to have matured—his mother was dead by then, so we can at least be sure he’d finally been weaned—he still was a very irritating kid.

So Thrones fans were surprised to see that Sweet Robin had grown into being a pretty cute young lord, complete with ‘90s style curtained hair ready for the cover of Tiger Beat: Westeros. So not only has he grown up to be a good looking guy, he doesn’t have to deal with his manipulative stepdad or his smothering mom, and instead gets to live out his days as one of the most eligible young lords in Westeros. If that’s not a happy ending, I don’t know what is.
