Lindsey Fukano is an American Emmy/Murrow/AP Award-Winning News Anchor, Producer, and Reporter with 11 years of experience at all network affiliates. She started out her career back in 2009 after Lindsey graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in TV and Radio Broadcasting from San Francisco State University. Shortly after Lindsey was hired at NBC for Wyoming, as the Fremont County Bureau Chief Reporter.

Lindsey was responsible for covering the entire western half of the state, as a solo one-man-band reporter. Lindsey covered the 2010 Fremont Co. floods, declared a disaster area by the president, a train derailment into a town’s water supply, as well as the president’s initiative to add more patrols to the Wind River Indian Reservation. During Lindsey’s time at NBC for Wyoming, she won an award for 2011 Best Reporter by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.

In the year 2011, Lindsey was hired as the morning anchor/overnight producer for KEPR/KIMA Action News, in the Tri-Cities/Yakima area of Washington state. As the producer and main anchor for the two-hour-long morning newscast, Lindsey was also responsible for making sure any breaking news was in her shows.

During both of her years at KEPR/KIMA, Lindsey’s shows received Emmy nominations for the year 2012 & 2013 Best Morning Newscast; also the first time the Action News morning show had been nominated for the award.

From there, she traveled back to California, to Bakersfield, where Lindsey became the debut anchor for Kern County’s only local weekend morning newscast on 23ABC KERO. While anchoring weekends, Lindsey also reported during the week, and after a short time was promoted to anchoring weekdays.

There Lindsey won the 2015 Associated Press Bill Stout Memorial Award for Excellence in Spot News. One of Lindsey’s newscasts about mudslides, which engulfed over 100 cars on a local highway, won the award.

Being half-Japanese, Fukano is heavily influenced by both Asian and Island Culture, and cannot wait to begin her new adventure in the beautiful islands of Hawaii! Lindsey will be the new co-anchor of Good Morning Hawaii with Maleko McDonnell, weekdays from 5-7 am on KITV.
