Lindsey was born on 3rd October 1949 in California, Palto Alto. Lindsey had developed interest in music at an early age by playing a toy Mickey Mouse guitar. His talents were visible right at a very young age.

Kristen Messner, Buckingham’s girlfriend, gave birth to their son on 8th July 1998 – his name is William Gregory Buckingham. Later on, they got married in 2000. Messner gave birth to a daughter Leelee later in 2000. In 2004, their third child was born – she was named Stella. He dedicated the song “It was You” from the album “Under The Skin” to his children.
