English actress Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson, best known by her stage name Lily James, was born on 5 April 1989.
In Kenneth Branagh’s 2015 live-action Cinderella movie, James portrayed Cinderella. For the December 2014 issue of Vogue, Annie Leibovitz took pictures of James dressed as Cinderella and wearing the blue ball gown.
James performed “Sing Sweet Nightingale,” “Lavender’s Blue,” and “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from the 1950 cartoon feature during the end credits, which marked her singing debut.
She made a comeback to television in 2016 when she played Natasha Rostova in the BBC historical drama series War & Peace.
She also played Elizabeth Bennet in the action-horror movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a parody of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
This was her second significant acting role. It had mixed reviews and didn’t make enough money at the box office to break even.
In 2016, Rob Ashford and actor-director Kenneth Branagh’s Romeo and Juliet production at the Garrick Theatre featured James as Juliet.
