Lila Elaine McCann (born December 4, 1981) is an American country music singer who debuted at the age of sixteen with the song “Down Came a Blackbird.” She has released four studio albums and a number of singles. She released the song as the first single from her 1997 album Lila, which went on to become the best-selling debut country music album of all time in the United States and was certified platinum in the United Kingdom. The song peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts.

Lila was certified platinum in the United Kingdom. “Eyes of a Ranger” was a 1998 Walker, Texas Ranger episode in which McCann starred as Kelly Wyman, an up-and-coming country singer. Then sang the a cappella rendition of the United States national song for the episode’s opening rodeo scene, and she serenaded the episode’s main character, Walker (Chuck Norris), singing “Eyes of a Ranger.” Immediately after Lila, McCann released two additional albums, 1999’s gold-certified Something in the Air and 2001’s Complete, before being dismissed by her record company in 2001.

Broken Bow Records, an indie label founded in 2005, signed her in 2005 and she released five songs for the company until being dismissed from the firm in 2008. In all, she has had twelve songs reach the top of the Billboard country charts, with the highest peak being “I Wanna Fall in Love” in 1998, which peaked at No. 3. A year later, she released her second-highest charting song, “With You,” which peaked at No. 9 on the country charts and No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is also her sole appearance on the latter list.
