Liam O’Prey, a 21-year-old man, is accused of killing Rico Burton, a relative of Tyson Fury, in Altrincham over the weekend.
Tyson Fury spoke of his grief following the murder of his cousin. In a shocking Instagram post, the boxing legend revealed that his cousin, Rico Burton, had been fatally stabbed in the neck, prompting cops to launch a murder investigation.
In an emotional post, the boxer said, “Last night, my cousin was killed by a neck stabbing. It’s ridiculous that idiots carry knives, which must stop immediately. Knife crime needs to be punished more severely by the UK government; you don’t realize how bad it is until one of your gets hurt!
Liam O’Prey Is Arrested For Tyson Fury Cousin Rico Burton’s Murder
Liam has been remanded in custody concerning the crime in Altrincham at 3 a.m. on Sunday. Burton, 31, died in hospital after being stabbed outside a bar in Goose Green, according to Manchester Police.
A fight is thought to have started when a different group of people argued about entering a pub. Rico’s friend and former coach Shaun Egan told the Mail Online that Rico intervened to break up the fight, but the men turned on him.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.30 a.m. on Sunday and believed to have attempted CPR. However, their attempts at resuscitation were futile, and Burton died soon after.
Fury took to social media shortly after the incident, which occurred just hours after he had watched potential future opponent Oleksandr Usyk defeat Anthony Joshua. Burton, a former junior boxer, is thought to have been watching the same fight when the incident occurred.

The law consists of three components: A judge-set minimum term, often referred to as a “tariff,” representing retributive justice with no chance of parole. Likewise, the murderer must serve a minimum year before the parole board determines that the person can be released, but until that time, the person must remain in prison.
Moreover, the offender’s license may be revoked at any time, and they may be sent back to jail until it is deemed safe to let them out again with a permit.
Although the court has not yet made its final decision public, if he is found guilty, he will be given a life sentence without the chance of parole.

Is The Manchester Man In Jail?
The Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court will hear O’Prey’s case on August 24. Currently, he is in custody. After watching Anthony Joshua’s fight with Oleksandr Usuk just hours earlier, Tyson Fury’s cousin acted as a mediator when he was stabbed.
O’Prey is in jail because he assaulted a 17-year-old boy who was critically hurt and received life-saving assistance from bystanders. He is still in stable condition for severe injuries at a hospital.
A 20-year-old man who was also detained on murder suspicions was freed on bail.
Greater Manchester Police Superintendent Ben Ewart said, “Can I take this opportunity first to pass on my sincere condolences to Rico’s family and friends and also praise the members of the public who stepped in and provided first aid.”
