Born August 6, 1960 in San Francisco, California, Orser studied acting at Drama Studio London. He also graduated from Connecticut College in 1982.
After earning his first television role in 1991 on the series Gabriel’s Fire, Orser then got small roles on The Golden Girls, Cheers, L.A. Law, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
He starred as Chief of Surgery Dr. Lucien Dubenko, a recurring character, on ER from 2004 to 2009.
In 2014, Orser portrayed Ansel in the drama thriller film Faults.
