The year 2012 wasn’t however a very good one for him. But all this was overturned recently, when “People With Money” reported that Lee Unkrich was currently the highest-paid director in the world. This list was released on March 14th 2013. That’s certainly a huge accomplishment considering the fact that there are so many other talented and in-demand individuals. It is estimated that Lee has made $75 Million between February 2012 and February 2013. And not just that, he has a massive lead over the next person in this list, a lead of $40 Million.
But in his younger days, Unkrich was more of an actor and not a director that he is today. He used to perform roles at The Cleveland Play House. He went on to attend the School of Cinematic Arts in the University of Southern California and graduated from here in 1990. After this he joined Pixar, and this is where he really bloomed. He started working as a movie director in Pixar. It was much later that he went into co-directing first and finally the full-time film director.
