According to a report by G1, the fighter was leaving a concert in Sao Paulo on early Sunday morning when he took a bullet to the head. His lawyer has said that his condition is grim as the doctors declared him dead.

A witness at the scene recalled watching officer Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo grabbing a bottle from the 33-year-old’s table, prompting him to retaliate.

Although passersby separated the two men, Velozo got back to his feet and targeted his opponent’s head before taking a shot.

Law enforcement arrived at the event and immediately transported him to Dr. Arthur Ribeiro de Saboya’s hospital, but it was too late. He got pronounced unsalable hours later as it was the end of his story.

His fellow athlete and competitors bowed down to his legacy as UFC fighter Kenny Florian commented it was a sad day for the BJJ community.

More condolences poured in as CBS showtime analyst Josh Thomson called him an unforgettable pioneer who had made significant contributions to Jiu Jitsu.

A highly celebrated athlete, Lo was one of the most successful jiu-jitsu competitors as he was the recipient of eight IBJJF World Championships.

The gold medalist had a black belt under Cicero Costha and had made true friendships and lifelong bonds.

Leandro Lo BJJ Illness And Health Conditions Revealed

Brazilian GOAT Leandro Lo BJJ did not have any reported illness as he was in perfect health conditions before his untimely demise.

Even at 33, he kept his body up to par with the changing trends as he was a black belt master who got to go head to head with someone half his age.

After a certain age, it’s evident for athletes to lose their youth stamina as Jiu-Jitsu practitioners often have a hard time making progress. The evolutions stop as they do not escape their comfort zone and keep training with their older, trusted training partners.

Indeed, he told Andre Galvao Podcast that one could become the best if they make the necessary adjustments and forgo their previous titles.

Born and raised in São Pauloa, he supported a unique fighting style and started to train from 11 am. The strict diet and passion for the sport set him apart from the rest, as his devotion was apparent.

His mantra was his holy grails as he declared to quit fighting in the IBJJF Worlds after he won the absolute.

Although he fought and won everything in BJJ, he still got the same passion when he returned to the gym and loved to look for new championships to conquer.
