Leandro Mateus Barbosa, a Brazilian-born professional basketball player, currently plays for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on November 28, 1982.
His nicknames, “Leandrinho” (Little Leandro) in Brazil and “The Brazilian Blur” (The Brazilian Blur) in the United States, both make reference to his speed.
The FIBA World Cup provides Barbosa with the ideal stage to demonstrate to NBA teams that he is still a capable player. In spite of the fact that guard is one of the positions in the league with the highest concentration of players, Barbosa’s lightning-quick first step and mastery of transition could be considered as an improvement for a few teams in need of a bit more depth.
