An Indonesian Instagram influencer who recorded her battle with a paralyzing spinal cord injury has died at the age of 2, her sister announced on Instagram.
Edèlenyi Laura Anna has over 1.8 million Instagram followers, where she posted selfies and life photos.
Gréta Irén, Anna’s older sister, according to the Indonesian site Coconuts Jakarta, confirmed Anna’s death on Wednesday in an Instagram story that is no longer available to see.
“Laura, so many people love you, so many people miss you,” another Wednesday Instagram story from Irén, this time translated from Indonesian. Irén expressed her gratitude that Anna would no longer be in pain and that she’s “willing to lose you as long as you’re not sick anymore.”
A framed photo of Anna was shown on Instagram, accompanied by a funeral floral arrangement and candles.
According to Coconuts Jakarta, the influencer suffered a crippling spinal cord injury in a car accident with Instagram influencer Gaga Muhammad in December 2019. In a fundraiser he set up to gather money for Anna’s medical needs in December 2019, Muhammad claimed that she was diagnosed with Cervical Vertebrae Dislocation.
Anna began sharing videos and photos of her life with the injury on December 17, 2019, when she released a movie of herself wearing a neck cast. She posted a picture of herself happy in January 2020 and noted in the caption, which was translated from Indonesian, that she could type on her own.
