They said Patricia was the one who murdered William and claimed she informed them she was having an affair with Christopher, causing her daughter to shoot her in a jealous frenzy.
Susan Edwards, 56, and her husband Christopher are on trial in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, for the 1998 murders of William and Patricia Wycherley.
Until last year, their bodies had been uncovered for 15 years.
They deny murder, although Mrs. Edwards has admitted to her mother’s manslaughter.
According to the jury at Nottingham Crown Court, Mr. and Mrs. Wycherley were murdered at their house and appeared to be alive to receive their pension.

Landscapers: Who are Patricia Wycherley And William Wycherley Killer?
Following their arrest, the pair tried unsuccessfully to claim that Patricia Wycherly killed her husband William before declaring an affair with Christopher Edwards, allegedly prompting Susan Edwards, her daughter, to murder her.
In 2014, a jury didn’t buy it and unanimously found them guilty of murder. So in 2014, they were sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Both assailants are still alive and in prison.
The bizarre case serves as the idea for “Landscapers,” a new dramatized four-episode series premiering on HBO and HBO Max on December 6.
“It tells a fascinating love story about Chris and Susan Edwards, a seemingly regular British couple who become the center of an incredible investigation after two corpses are discovered in the back garden of a property in Nottingham,” according to the synopsis.
Details on Susan Edwards Parents -Who Killed Them?
Mrs. Edwards said how she stepped into her parents’ bedroom on Friday and found her mother standing over her father’s death.
She claimed she took the gun off the bed, a World War II revolver, to keep it away from Mrs. Wycherley.
Her mother began taunting her in court, claiming she had never been wanted as a kid, abused her father, and had an affair with Christopher Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards told the court that she wrapped both bodies in a duvet and hid them under the bed when visiting her parents over the May Bank Holiday.
She returned to Dagenham two days later but returned with her husband the following weekend to tell him what had transpired.
Mrs. Edwards said her husband wanted to call the cops right away, but she talked him out of it.
She admitted, “I emotionally blackmailed him.” “I grabbed his arm and yanked him away from me. He needed to use the phone. I used everything I had – our love – to persuade him not to contact the cops.”
The couple buried the bones in the house’s back garden, which remained unnoticed for 15 years.
According to the court, the police were tipped off after Mr. Edwards begged his stepmother for money and told her what had transpired.
According to the prosecutors, the couple was allegedly slain for their money and pensions.
