Kristine Lazar is an American born journalist who is currently working with CBS Local channel. Lazar is an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter for CBS 2 and KCAL 9 News. Kristine grew up by the beach in San Diego where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley.
Lazar has worked all over California, from Palm Springs and Fresno, back down to San Diego before eventually landing in Los Angele in 2007. Kristine helped launch the consumer justice franchise, 2 On Your Side in 2017. The fatal 2008 Metrolink accident which Kristine reported about led to the passage of federal legislation limiting cell phone use by conductors and engineers on trains.
In 2007, Kristine won an Emmy for a piece she did on child prostitution. Later in 2014, she won another Emmy for a feature on a middle-aged woman with Down syndrome, who finally received a surgery that enabled her to dance.
