She gained popularity as a part of the investigative team of these shows.

The Net Worth of Kris Williams

As of mid-2020, Kris Williams’ net worth is estimated to be over $7 million, earned through her years of work in the entertainment industry. She’s gained high valued contracts during her career, appearing in other television shows and feature films.

Recently, she’s also been gaining numerous income-related opportunities through online platforms such as YouTube.

Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings

Kris grew up in Lowell alongside a younger sibling. At a young age, she became very handy around the house as her father thought her numerous things such as carpentry and other household tasks. During high school, she developed an interest in acting, and pursued performing arts classes while attending Alvirne High School located in New Hampshire. At the time, the family had moved and settled in that state.

After matriculating, she furthered her studies by enrolling in a two-year Communications course at Rivier College located nearby.

The private university is a part of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, offering both on-campus as well as online programs for its students. After graduation, she hadn’t set a goal for her career, so initially used her skills and knowledge in carpentry to work with a company focusing on flooring, for around three years. She also worked with her father, becoming an employee in his gun shop which lasted a few years as well.

Acting Transition

In the early-2000s, Williams decided that she would pursue her interests in acting and began attending auditions. This led her to be cast in a minor role in the film “Mystic River”, which was directed by Clint Eastwood.

The film starred Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon, and is based on the Dennis Lehane novel of the same name, the story of three childhood friends who grew apart and later become involved in a murder case as adults. The film was highly successful, winning several awards at the Oscars.

She did a few more acting projects in the next few years, though she didn’t find the same success as her initial work. She mainly appeared in B movies and independent film projects, including “The Lady Trio” which follows the relationships of three women with vastly different circumstances. She also worked alongside Vincent Pagano and Marley Shelton in the film “Jesus, Mary, and Joey”, about a man who meets one of his childhood schoolmates, only to discover that she’s blossomed into a beauty as an adult.

One of her last acting projects was 2007’s “Diabolical Tales: Part II”, which is a series of short films set in a fictional universe where most popular conspiracy theories turned out to be true.

Ghost Hunters

In 2007, Kris was cast as one of the investigators and case managers of the show “Ghost Hunters”, establishing herself as one of the main personalities of the show. While she didn’t have any past ghost-hunting experience unlike other cast members, she showed a strong interest in the project, and had the qualities to gain notice as a television personality. The show features members of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) as they investigate various locations that have been reported as haunted.

The main cast members Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes are shown as plumbers during the day while investigators at night. In later seasons, the producers dropped the TAPS team in favor of other investigators though the reasons for it were not disclosed. The show was initially more of a docu-soap, incorporating drama elements to help boost its entertainment value. However, later on, the show became more of an actual documentary, as the team visited more popular haunted locations in various parts of the world. The show is said to have been one of the reasons why ghost hunting shows and other paranormal-focused reality shows became popular.

Ghost Hunters International and Recent Endeavors

In 2008, Williams started appearing in the “Ghost Hunters” spin-off, “Ghost Hunters International”, working on more episodes for the spin-off and eventually becoming a main part of the international team. Unlike the original show, this team traveled around the world and visited various haunted locations of international fame. She later admitted that she was motivated to move to the other show, as she was spooked by one of the crew members of “Ghost Hunters” who started a creepy bloodletting ritual while they were filming. “Ghost Hunters International” ran for four years before the show eventually ended with no renewal by Syfy.

In recent years, Kris moved away from acting and television work, moving to Australia and becoming more of a mainstay personality within the paranormal scene. She appears in various events related to hauntings, appearing in guided tours or other paranormal celebrations. She also focused more on her online presence, establishing a YouTube channel while also posting regularly on Instagram. She moved to Australia, and one of her most recent projects is a public ghost hunting tour of the historical warship, the USS Edson.

Personal Life

Kris remained quiet about her romantic endeavors for most of her life, so it came as a surprise when she announced in 2017 that she had married.

Her husband is a former military pilot for the Australian Air Force, and the two have been together for a long time, even having a child long before they married. With their marriage, she also became the stepmother to her husband’s child from a previous relationship.

She refers to herself as a Jane-of-all-trades, having numerous interests. She loved that she was able to mix in her interest conspiracy theories, paranormal, and urban legends with traveling, thanks to “Ghost Hunters” and “Ghost Hunters International”. Apart from these, she is a big fan of art, and is also very interested in genealogy, even tracing most of her family’s roots over time.
