Komarock Modern Healthcare was started in the year 2006 as a small out patient clinic. It has grown with time from seeing around 10 patients in a day to 100 patients currently. The hospital bed capacity currently is 24, which includes male, female, paediatric wards. We Specialize in Obstetrics & Gynaecology but are also competent to handle all other general medical and minor surgical conditions requiring specialized care.

The 24-beds fully-fledged Level 3 facility is located at Komarock Sector 3A, Mwangaza Road. All general medical and consultation services are offered on 24 hours, 7 days a week basis at affordable rates. All Consultants (Specialists) are available.
Utawala Branch
Opened in August 2016, the fully-fledged 150-beds Level 5 hospital is located at Ndege View Estate in Utawala along the Eastern By-pass. Utawala Branch combines a personalized approach with innovative technologies to deliver treatments that set a new standard for excellence in care, including state-of-the-art facilities which offer complete therapy, disease management, prevention, and wellness.
Our team is active in research and development of advanced treatments and procedures aimed at delivering better patient outcomes. The facility boasts of a fully equipped operating theatre, ICU, HDU, NBU, Renal Dialysis Unit and CT scan among other facilities bringing all services under one roof. All Consultants (Specialists) are available. All operations run on a 24 hours basis.
Kathwana Branch
Located at Kathwana across Tharaka Nithi County Headquarters in Tharaka Nithi County along Ishiara-Chiakariga Highway, the branch opened doors in November 2018. The fully-fledged 180-beds Level 4 facility boasts of an ultramodern ICU, HDU, NBU, Renal Dialysis Unit, Operating Theatres and CT scan among other modern facilities. All Consultants (Specialists) are available. All operations run on a 24 hours basis.

OUTPATIENT
True to our vision, we strive to provide unparalleled, patient-centered Outpatient Services to all patients visiting our facility at very affordable charges on a 24hours, 7days a week basis.
IN-PATIENT
Komarock Modern HealthCare has the option of private rooms and general wards as far as accommodation is concerned. We have medical, surgical, orthopedic and pediatric units as well as fully-fledged maternity wings. In our Pediatric wards, we accommodate also the hospitalized child’s parent/guardian. We ensure that each patient receives tailor-made, personalized attention for their specific needs.
ICU
Komarock Modern Healthcare takes pride in leveraging cutting-edge ICU technology to enhance the delivery of gold-standard, patient-centered critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions such as trauma, infections, complications from surgery, severe breathing problems, cardiac arrest or acute heart diseases among others.
Through the help of the specialty-trained team including ICU nurses, intensive monitoring is given to the high-acuity patients at the ICU. The unit is managed by a large multidisciplinary team and all care is consultant-led.
DIALYSIS
We have adequately equipped Renal Dialysis Units in our branches and provide individualized hemodialysis treatments for patients with renal failure. For patients with end-stage kidney failure, we provide supportive treatment until their renal function recovers. We also have some machines for isolation. Dialysis sessions are covered by NHIF.
NEWBORN UNIT
Our laboratories operate 24 hours. We do a wide range of both routine and specialized tests at reasonable costs. We serve not only those seen at our Outpatient and Inpatient departments but also those wishing to request for certain tests themselves.
PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT
The Physiotherapy units are headed by experienced Physiotherapists and consists of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. They include:

(MCH) CLINIC
This clinic is run by Reproductive Health Specialists across our branches on a daily basis, including weekends and public holidays. Expectant women need not book an appointment to be seen at this clinic and can come at their convenience. Our Antenatal Clinic offers all-encompassing, comprehensive care to expectant women on all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, prenatal exercises, health talks. effectively preparing the mother for childbirth and motherhood. At our Post-natal clinic, we attend to mothers returning for a post-delivery review.
♦ WELL BABY CLINIC (WBC)
It is our pride to see babies grow into healthy citizens. Specially trained doctors and nurses, therefore, run Well Baby Clinics once a week in all our branches. This clinic also handles immunization and runs every Saturday from 8.00 am-2.00 pm.
♦ FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES
We understand that getting your Family Planning method right is key to your wellbeing. Our doctors and specialists will take you through all the available options and help you make an informed choice.
♦ PMTCT SERVICES
We have Prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV services to women and infants including prevention of HIV infections among women in the reproductive age bracket, preventing unwanted pregnancies among women living with HIV, and providing women living with HIV with lifelong ART to maintain their health and prevent transmission during pregnancy, labor, and breastfeeding. This also promotes safe childbirth practices and appropriate infant feeding and provide infants exposed to HIV with testing after birth and during the breastfeeding period, ART prevention and effective treatment.
PHARMACY
We have fully stocked pharmacies across our 3 branches which operate on a 24-hours basis, serving not only patients seen at our Outpatient Department, but also those who with external prescriptions. Our pharmacists adequately advise you on the prescriptions.
GYNECOLOGY CLINIC
The Gynecology clinics are run by Reproductive Health Specialists and also incorporate the Well Woman Clinic and Family Planning Clinic. Regular health check-ups that are essential for women especially during their childbearing years e.g. Pap Smear, Head to Toe examination and cancer screening are also available.
PAEDIATRIC
We understand that children respond differently to illnesses, injuries, and medication and need a personalized approach to treatment. Our Pediatricians will monitor and manage the long-term health of your child including physical, behavioral, social-developmental, mental health issues and other conditions. The clinics are run on appointment.
OPHTHALMOLOGY
Having the extended periods of time that we spend before our office desk computers, many people are ending up with an array of eye problems. Our Ophthalmologists will address these and other eye problems and advise accordingly. The clinics run daily on appointment.
EAR NOSE AND THROAT (ENT)
We have Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Specialists across our 3 branches to diagnose, manage and treat disorders of the Ear, Nose, and Throat, sinuses, voice box (larynx) and related structures. The clinics are run on appointment. The ENT Specialists will treat conditions including:
♦ Hearing loss and ear disorders e.g. infection, dizziness and tinnitus

♦ Infections e.g. tonsillitis
♦ Injuries
♦ Congenital or acquired abnormalities
♦ Swallowing disorders
♦ Speech disorders

GENERAL SURGEON
We have General Surgeons who deal with the preoperative, operative and postoperative management of patients with a broad spectrum of diseases, including those who may require non-operative, elective or emergency surgical treatment. They will diagnose, treat and manage conditions affecting areas such as the alimentary tract, abdominal organs, breasts, skin, soft tissues, and endocrine system. They also provide care for critical and trauma units among others. The clinics run on appointment.
