Darcy Olsson, portrayed by Kizzy Edgell, is a recurring character in Heartstopper. She is best friends with Elle Argent, Aled Last, Nick Nelson, Charlie Spring, Tao Xu, and Sahar Zahid, and is the girlfriend of Tara Jones.
Darcy is a student at Higgs alongside Tara and Elle. Kizzy makes their on-screen debut as Darcy in Heartstopper. The 19-year-old, who is non-binary, is also studying psychology at university and was juggling their A-Levels at the same time they were filming Heartstopper.
Heartstopper is about to be your new favorite teen romantic drama. The new Netflix series, adapted from Alice Oseman’s popular webtoon, is a beautiful, queer joy — a coming of age story about learning what you deserve, and the priceless value of the friends who see in you what you can’t yet see in yourself.
“I think that’s made me feel really lucky that I can talk about it, I can speak to people about it, and the lesbian representation and queer female representation, it’s something that does get missed out on a lot of LGBT+ shows,” Kizzy said in the same press roundtable. “I’m really happy to be part of that.”
