The actress was born on September 14, 1971 as Kimberly Payne Williams in Rye, New York. She was born the daughter of her mother Linda Barbara, a fundraiser, and her father, Gurney Williams III, a science and health writer. She has two siblings: a sister, Ashley, also an actress, and a brother, Jay.
Since the age of 13 he has been working in show business. As for her education, she attended Rye High School Music Revue in 1989. After that, she joined Northwestern University but dropped out in her sophomore year. She dropped out of college to appear in the 1991 film version of Father of the Bride, however, she returned to complete her theater degree. During her college days, she was an Alpha Phi sorority sister.
