There is a rage over the color as Daunte Wright was a 20 years old Black man. Kim said she mistakenly drew her gun instead of her Taser when she shot Wright. But he is gone anyway.
Prosecutors are seeking more than seven years in prison for Kimberly Potter. Potter’s attorney has argued for a lesser sentence. pointing in their filings to her lack of criminal record as well as her “evident contrition.”

In December 2021, she was convicted of first-and-second-degree manslaughter. In the CCTV camera footage of the incident, Potter can be heard yelling, “Taser” repeatedly before she shoots Wright.
Initially, she was convicted of second-degree manslaughter in April. Prosecutors added a first-degree manslaughter charge in early September. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Kim Potter’s husband is Jeff. They seemed to have close bonding as Jeff yelled “I love you, Kim” when she was taken away for custody with her handcuffed by police.
Kim then replied that she loves him too, according to a pool reporter in court. As per social media, Kim is a mother of two sons. Both of them are said to be an adult.
