Summary

I was raised in Boston during the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era as a New York Giants fan, so you can imagine how interesting that was. Raised by a guy who had a Giants tattoo on his thigh, my father did not give me a choice on who to root for.

I was a New York Giants fan and that was final. I loved being different though and I especially loved it when the Giants beat the Patriots in two Super Bowls. Recess was really fun the next day, to say the least.

But here’s the catch, when it comes to hockey, basketball, and baseball I’m a die-hard Boston fan. In fact, the moment the Boston Red Sox broke the curse in 2004 I realized I needed to be a sports journalist. I spent my childhood reading, watching and analyzing sports and everything they had to offer.

Needless to say, I was raised in a sports family where sports became a way of life, a way to cope, a way to connect with total strangers.

I stayed close to home to study Broadcast Journalism at Curry College in Milton, MA. Not ready to give up my love of soccer, I played on the Curry College Women’s Soccer team before hanging up the cleats my senior year after accepting an internship with New England Sports Network (NESN).

Unfortunately, I had to give up my biggest passion in order to start following my dream to be a sports reporter. I don’t regret it for a second. Throughout my four years at Curry, I interned at stations in Boston such as NESN, NBC Boston, and Channel 7 Sports.

Shortly after graduation, I took a position at Boston 25 as a Production Assistant, where I took full advantage of my resources and learned from the best of the best. In a short period of time, I built up a reel and landed my first full-time career.

I’ve been the Sports Director at WICZ Fox 40 for the last 11 months and in a short time span, I have reported on major events, delivered interviews with professional athletes and have grown so much along the way. I am hardworking, reliable and always willing to learn.
