After dating the musical artist Niko Khale for the past year, Keyshia Cole is apparently back on the single market. As they have been watching each other on social media, the 38-year-old R&B singer and her 24-year-old boyfriend reportedly split up recently.
It is uncertain what contributed to the suspected breakup of the pair, but a so-called entertainment source informs MTO News that after more than a year together, it was Niko who made the decision to end their partnership and “dumped” Keyshia.
In 2018, both Keyshia and Niko started dating. Their 14-year age difference prompted a number of social media reactions and the “Love” hitmaker was clearly responsive about the situation. “She declined his usage of the word “elder” to apply to her in her friendship with Niko during an interview on Nick Cannon’s morning show.
The presenter advised Keyshia to “embrace” the idea that she was the “elder.” of her partner, compared Keyshia and Niko’s partnership with his relationship with ex-wife Mariah Carey, but she turned down Nick’s claim, whilst the comedian/rapper argued that there is nothing wrong with a younger man being molded and formed by an older woman with whom he is in a relationship.
Keyshia revealed on Instagram in May 2019 that, along with Niko, she is expecting her first boy. On August 1 of the same year, she gave birth to her baby, named Tobias. She is also the mother of another son, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr., from an earlier relationship with Daniel Gibson, the NBA player.
One Internet user wrote, referring to the split news, “Not surprised by this breakup,” arguing, “An almost 40 year old woman shouldn’t expect a long term relationship with a 23 yr old. Was he even employed?”
Another realized this was coming, too, but was powerless to resist feeling sorry for Keyshia. I knew it wouldn’t last yet I really wanted this for her. She seemed so happy,” wrote the second commentator on an online website. “but this incident has made me believe she’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer. an almost 40 year old dating a 20 year old BOY and having a kid? sad.”
