Kevin Barney Rollins is an American businessman and philanthropist who was born on November 15, 1952. Rollins, the former President and CEO of Dell Inc., was voted the 9th Most Influential Person in the Enterprise IT Sector by London’s CBR in 2006. Rollins grew up in Utah and met his wife Debra while studying at Brigham Young University (BYU). Rollins graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Civil Engineering in 1983 and an MBA the following year. Prior to joining Dell in April 1996, Rollins was a vice president and partner at Bain & Company, where he specialised in high-tech and consumer product strategy and management. He assisted in the development of tactics that pushed Dell to a dominant position in the US direct marketing of computer equipment. Rollins has four children and seven grandkids with his wife. On January 1, 2009, Rollins was elected chairman of the American Enterprise Institute’s Board of Trustees.
