Kevin Pollak Podcast
Pollak has a weekly Internet talk show by the title Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show. For this, he partnered with Jason Calacanis in April 2009. Its guests include fellow comedians, film directors, and actors. It mainly involves interviews that are in-depth and are longer than an hour, sometimes exceeding two hours. The show’s topics include the guests’ childhoods, how they got into the business they are in, how they got inspired to start certain creative endeavors, and unique experiences they have had while working. It also provides the viewers to interact with the show through a chat room as it is going on. Guests also answer the viewers’ questions live.
It has recurring segments and bits on the show which include:
- “The Larry King Game”, which requires the guest to do a bad Larry King impression, reveals something about oneself (in the persona of Larry King) and then go to the phones and say a funny-sounding city.
- “Tweet Five”- in this, Pollak reads the guest five questions from a Twitter user, usually in a this-or-that style
- “Who Tweeted” – a host (Samm Levine) reads tweets from the Twitter accounts of three female celebrities (the list of actresses varies) and Pollak and his guest compete against each other game-show-style to guess who authored each tweet.
- “You’re Not Buffering” – in this segment, Pollak freezes mid-statement during his interview as though the show has paused due to internet lag, but he’s actually still alive. He then breaks his pause and says, “You’re not buffering.”
Talkin Walkin is another podcast that Pollak began in 2012. Here, he spends an hour or more with a new guest as Christopher Walken in character.
