Kevin Hodge Before YouTube
Kevin and his brother Keith worked as undercover security guards before coming into the entertainment industry. They did their job in a unique way, as they pretended to be customers so that they could catch potential shoplifters for Marine Corps. After this, they went on to work in an insurance company.
Kevin and Keith started making video and post on YouTube while they were still working at the insurance company. The pair uploaded their first video on December 25, 2008, TheHodgetwins. Their first video was a comedy sketch that involved an argument inside a restroom. It eventually turned into a comedy channel. They used to give their views on current events.
As time went by, they started uploading, relationship advice, which was first suggested by one of their subscribers. Kevin and Keith coined the interpretative phrase “sugar walls” as slang for a woman’s vagina and “mushroom tip” to refer to a man’s penis.
They also focused on their personal fitness. They created a channel, Twin Muscle Workout where they post their fitness workouts. After uploading their first video, they received a lot of harsh criticism in the comments section. This led to the Hodge Twins ending every video with the disclaimer: “Do whatever the fuck you want.” This turned out to be one of the Hodge Twins’ most famous and emphatic catchphrases. Their YouTube channels have more than 2.1 million subscribers as of 2020.
