Kerrin Jeromin Career

Shortly after graduation, she landed her first job as a broadcast meteorologist at Fox44/ABC22 in Burlington, Vermont. She was hired to do weekend weather, and environmental reporting three days during the week. Having lived in Vermont for nearly her entire life, this was a golden opportunity for her to start her career *and* have the joy of having family nearby.

She learned a lot in the first year of her job…all about New England weather (snowstorms, mountain effects, extreme cold, 4 beautiful seasons of weather), news deadlines, the ups and downs of live television, having to live life in “the real world” (not being able to skip class, or work, as it was…), and learning just what she enjoyed most about her job which was being able to educate and inform the masses.

To this point in her career, she still loves slipping “weather lessons” into her presentation to help the viewers be more informed about understanding the weather.

Kerrin Jeromin Mornings

After a year and a half of working the weekend weather, she was promoted to mornings. Kerrin would now work 5 days a week as a full-time meteorologist. This stretch of her career was amazing and a real test to her versatility being the only forecaster on a 4-hour newscast (hello, coffee!).

She worked with various talented anchors along the way and learned even more about the deadline and local news. Now in a full-time position, Kerrin was also able to gain her CBM from the American Meteorological Society, one of the most respected certifications for a broadcast meteorologist.

Over the next 2 years, she worked hard to make the morning show informative and fun and also worked on a few side projects. With the help of her co-worker (and, now, husband), Steve Glazier, they conducted a scientific survey on public literacy of weather and the way the media communicates that information.

Kerrin and Steve were able to present our findings at various scientific conferences, including the AMS Broadcasters’ Conference in 2012- a certain highlight of my early career.

Kerrin Jeromin Fox Evening

With hard work and dedication for the first 3 1/2 years of her career start, she was given an incredible opportunity to move to the evenings as chief meteorologist. She was honored to be designated “chief” of her team at Fox44. She took great pride in her new title and accepted the challenge to establish an incredible weather department at a fairly new (to the market) station. And a challenge, it was.

She learned all about handling the ups and downs of management, team building, battling new circumstances she never had faced before between co-workers, and the demands of a nightly newscast. These were some of the most trying times of her early career.

She was faced with a fluctuating team, members coming and going, and having to pick up a lot of slack in between. She trusts that this time made her a stronger leader and better employee in the long run. Kerrin was lucky to have a very strong team in the last 2 years of my time at Fox44.

The station made great leaps and bounds. Kerrin had established herself as a strong and trusted forecaster in Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire. She had been given countless opportunities to connect with the public, attend and emcee various community events, and, most importantly, be an active and positive member of my community.

Kerrin Jeromin CBS12 News

During her time at CBS12 News, Kerrin was part of the area’s largest team of meteorologists in the local market. She is proud to have been the first female meteorologist at the station, despite its long history. Among the many hats she wore, she was the main meteorologist for the newly launched 9 am newscast. Kerrin also provided weathercasts on the station’s 24/7 digital channel 12-2, WeatherNation.

As you likely know, TV is a lot more than TV, so her duties also include keeping their digital platforms up to date and active with accurate, local weather information, regular/engaging social media content, blogs, and radio segments for over 10 local radio stations in South Florida. Kerrin also provided traffic information on our morning newscast.

In 1982, the group released its debut studio album, “Under the Blade,” and subsequently grew a following in the United Kingdom. The album was followed by “You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll,” which spawned the singles “The Kids Are Back” and “I Am (I’m Me).” Twisted Sister released its third and most successful album in 1984: “Stay Hungry.” This record featured the band’s two biggest hits, “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” and eventually went multi-platinum with sales in the United States surpassing 3,000,000 copies. Around this time, Snider established his signature persona of long curly blonde hair and metal-inspired makeup, including an abundance of eye shadow, rouge, and red lipstick. In the mid-80s, MTV launched “Heavy Metal Mania,” the first program on the network to entirely comprise heavy metal videos. Snider hosted the very first episode in June of 1985. Next, in 1987 came “Love Is for Suckers,” which had originally been conceived as a solo project for Snider. The album was to become the band’s final album before their breakup, and also their last to feature entirely new material.Music After Twisted Sister: Following a truncated tour in 1987, Snider officially announced his departure from Twisted Sister.
