Kenny Roberts Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Kenneth Leroy Roberts (born December 31, 1951 in Modesto, California) is an American former professional motorcycle racer and racing team owner who competed in the MotoGP and Superbike World Championships. The year 1978 saw his maiden victory in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship, making him the first American to do it. He was also a two-time champion of the A.M.A. Grand National Championship, which was held in the United Kingdom. Only four riders in the history of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) have achieved the AMA Grand Slam, which includes victories in the mile, half-mile, short track, TT Steeplechase, and road race events. Roberts is the only rider to achieve the AMA Grand Slam on four different bikes.

He made his impact on Grand Prix motorcycle racing as a world championship-winning rider, an advocate for improved safety standards in racing, a racing team owner, and a motorcycle engine and chassis manufacturer, among other accomplishments. His riding style, which was based on dirt tracks, revolutionised the way Grand Prix bikes were ridden. As a result of Roberts’ proposal to establish a rival motorcycle championship in 1979, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) lost its hegemony over the sport and the political clout of Grand Prix racers increased, which ultimately resulted in improved safety standards and the emergence of a new era of professionalism within it. The FIM honoured Roberts with the title of Grand Prix Legend in 2000.
