Kathleen Bond Manafort was born in the United States, in December 1952. She was raised by her parents, Joseph Nelson Bond, an aeronautical engineer, and Patricia Bond on Long Island, alongside her siblings, Thomas , Jay and Randolph. His mother died in 2015 before his father in 2018.
For her education, she went to George Washington University after graduating from high school. There, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration before going to Georgetown University, where she earned her Juris Doctorate (JD).
