This is the story of Katherine Langford and her sister, Josephine Langford, who chose careers in the arts as actresses when their parents were doctors.
Luckily for Katherine, her parents were never in the mood to have children who followed their own career paths. Instead, they supported Katherine’s desire to devote herself to the arts and enrolled her in voice lessons in 2005. Subsequently, Katherine received lessons in classical, contemporary and jazz voice.
She was then offered a place at her local school, the prestigious Perth Modern School where she studied music and drama. Katherine’s decision to pursue an acting career by applying to top drama schools was frustrated as she was considered too young and inexperienced. She chose a local acting course in her hometown of Perth, Australia.
Although taking acting lessons required her to work part-time jobs to pay her bills, it all paid off for Katherine, who was admitted to the Principal Academy of Dance & Theater Arts.
