Kat Graham’s music career continued with the release of her first single, “Sassy,” in October 2010. Despite having a music video to go along with it, the song did not become a commercial success.
Despite this, she persisted and released several covers, including those of Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul, for which the latter expressed her respect and adoration.
In December 2010, Graham also contributed a cover of Garbage’s “Only Happy When It Rains” to the soundtrack for The Vampire Diaries.
Graham acquired a recording contract with A&M/Octone Records in 2012, making her the first performer to be associated with a major label.
It reached at number five on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. Graham’s musical talent was even more evident when she performed “Put Your Graffiti On Me” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May 2012, marking her first musical appearance on television.
Later same month, Graham released her debut EP, Against The Wall, which peaked at position #54 on the iTunes Music Album Chart.
Her second EP single, “Wanna Say,” gained fame because of a music video that was created and directed by London Alley and Benny Boom. She is currently working on her debut album.
