Kaitlan Collins CNN News
In her career history, Kaitlan was selected by The Daily Caller as the entertainment reporter in June 2014. She then grew to the website’s white house correspondent in January 2017. Collins was banned from a Trump administration press conference in White House Rose Garden in July 2018. Kaitlan stated that she was excluded from the event after asking President Trump regarding Vladimir Putin the leader of Russia and Trump’s former attorney Micheal Cohen in the Oval Office. Collins said she was informed by senior White House officials that such questions were “inappropriate for that venue.” Trump’s press secretary Sarah Sanders affirmed that Collins “shouted questions and refused to go away,” while Trump’s advisor Kellyanne Conway said that the result was about “being polite.”
Trump’s deputy chief of staff for communications, Bill Shine, opposed to the characterization of the White House’s action as a “ban” but “refused to tell reporters what word he would use to describe the White House’s choice to block her from participating in the press briefing.” CNN stated that the ban on Collins was “retaliatory.” The White House Association called the ban “wholly inappropriate, wrong-headed, and weak.” Jay Wallace, president of Fox News, published a statement in support of Collins.
