Born-and-bred outside of Houston, Texas, she attributes her upbringing on the Gulf Coast to fueling and shaping her desire to learn more about the weather. As a child, she witnessed the Hurricane Rita and Tropical Storm Allison that affected Southeast Texas in various ways, leaving a different mark of her life, as well.
Following high school, she thought a change of climate and scenery was necessary and began pursuing her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. While there, she was actively involved at the American Meteorologist Society as well as worked as a student manager for the Lady Raider basketball.
The weather geek boasted of having cut her teeth on television broadcast as a meteorology intern at KTRK-TV during the summer of 2012 and second internship was in Lubbock at KCBD-TV. After graduating from Texas Tech, she pursued her master’s degree in meteorology at Mississippi State University and graduated in May 2016.
