What Happened To Justina?
Justina is a Connecticut girl placed at Boston Children’s Hospital after suffering a rare medical condition.
She had been previously getting treatment at Tufts Medical Center. Justina was already on medication for a condition that caused digestive issues and fatigue. Her diagnosis of mitochondrial disease came forward in 2011.
Later, Pelletier was brought to the Boston hospital for a medical checkup after her previous gastroenterologist at Tufts medical center had transferred to the hospital. She had a severe stomach ache.
According to Wbur, four days later, the Boston Children’s Hospital took the then 14-year-old girl under their custody with the help of relevant authorities after raiding their house on Valentine’s Day.
They believed that she had psychological problems rather than a physical illness. They accused Lou and Linda of child malpractice after they disagreed with their words.
Boston Children’s Hospital even limited the contact. Only limited visitors were allowed. They claimed that Pelletier showed progress in the absence of her parents.
That said, Justina’s testimony unveiled something else. She disclosed that the hospital officials treated her inhumanely. Later, Lou and Linda started fighting a legal battle for their daughter with Boston Hospital in 2013.
Her Lou and Linda took the matter to court seeking justice when the hospital took severe inhuman measures against Pelletier.
The legal battle over Pelletier’s medical case led to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Family taking over the then 14-year-old girl’s custody for over a year.

Justina had been in the hospital for over a week in July. She was undergoing a procedure.
A page dedicated to Justina, named A Miracle for Justina, updated the status urging everyone to pray for her emergency surgery on the afternoon of September 28.
‘Justina’s surgery was successful,’ the page updated about the surgery. Likewise, on October 1, the carrier also revealed that she was battling an infection post-surgery and would have to undergo another procedure in a few weeks.
The next day on October 2, the page wrote, ‘Justina is having another emergency surgery now. Please send positive thoughts and prayers.
