Justin Thomas is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Formerly ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, his career is highlighted by 14 PGA Tour wins including a major title at the 2017 PGA Championship and the 2017 FedExCup. In 2018, Justin was just the 21st player to ever reach #1 in the Official World Golf Rankings following his WGC win in Memphis. His breakout season came in 2016-17 with five of his PGA TOUR wins, including the PGA Championship, 12 top 10 finishes and, ultimately, the FedEx Championship. His other victories came at the CIMB Classic, Sentry Tournament of Champions, Sony Open in Hawaii and Dell Technologies Championship. At the Sony Open, Thomas became the youngest player to shoot 59 on the PGA TOUR and also broke the TOUR’s 72-hole scoring record by a stroke.

Justin played collegiate golf for the Alabama Crimson Tide. There he became one of the storied program’s most decorated athletes, being named Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year, Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year, the Haskins Award Winner as the most outstanding player in collegiate and amateur golf, and capped his collegiate career by helping the Crimson Tide win their first National Championship.

Justin Thomas Parents

Justin Thomas is the son of Mike and Jani Thomas. His father, Mike Thomas, has been the head professional at the Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, Kentucky, since 1990.

Golf was in Justin’s lineage, too. His father was a longtime P.G.A. of America professional who toiled on the mini tours before turning to teaching. His paternal grandfather, Paul, was the head professional at Zanesville Country Club in Ohio for more than 25 years and played in the United States Open.

From the first time Justin picked up a golf club at 18 months old, golf has been an obsession for him. As soon as he could walk, Justin would tag along whenever his father would practice.

“I remember one time him grabbing at my clubs and saying, ‘I want to hit one,’” Mike Thomas told The New York Times. “He gripped the club cross-handed and started whacking balls. From that point on, all he wanted to do was hit balls. His mom would tee them up, and he’d hit them.”

His father taught his the fundamentals of golf, but he was cautious about pushing him too hard. Most of their lessons would last 10 or 15 minutes, in part because Mike Thomas had a busy schedule teaching and competing, but also because he did not want to be overbearing.

“I’ve seen it done wrong so many times. It was more important that we were friends than he was a good player,” Mike Thomas said. “I’d watch him hit a few balls and ask him what he thought was causing the ball to do what it did. I’d tell him, What are you going to do, call me when you’re on the 15th hole of a tournament? Because of that, he knows his own game.”

Thomas and Johnson had been together since 2015 when he joined the tour and just two years later, he won his first major title at the PGA Championship and the FedEx Cup. The pair won 14 PGA Tour events as a team.

“Jimmy and I had an incredible run of six years together but we have agreed to go our separate ways,” Justin said in a statement. “I 100% did not fire him, as Jimmy came to me after the Ryder Cup and told me he has decided to pursue other opportunities. I have nothing but respect for Jimmy and his wife Jen and I’ll always appreciate all the success and times we had together, I wish him all the best.”

It was announced that Jim “Bones” Mackay, who famously caddied for Phil Mickelson for 25 years, will be Thomas’ new caddie for the 2021/2022 PGA Tour season. Mackay, who had been working as an on-course reporter for NBC and Golf Channel since 2017, has caddied for Thomas before. In 2018, Johnson suffered an injury so Mackay filled into caddie for Thomas at the Sony Open. Also in 2020, Mackay carried for Thomas at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational when he won the tournament by 3 shots.

Jared Fogle Net Worth and salary: Jared Fogle is an American spokesperson and motivational speaker who has a net worth of $4 million. Jared is best known for being the main Subway spokesperson, and for his work as a motivational speaker. Unfortunately he is probably also known for his 2015 arrest on child pornography charges. At the peak of his career, Jared was worth approximately $10 – $15 million and was earning $2 million a year as a spokesman and motivational speaker. He reportedly paid his ex-wife a divorce settlement worth as much as $7 million in the wake of his arrest. He has likely lost millions more from legal defense costs and civil settlements.Early Life: Jared Fogle was born on December 1, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Norman and Adrienne Fogle. He and his younger brother and sister were raised in a Jewish home, and Fogle had a Bar Mitzvah on a trip to Israel before being confirmed by his Conservative-Reconstructionist synagogue. He graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis in 1995. Fogle attended Indiana University Bloomington in 2000 and then worked briefly as a revenue management agent at American Trans Air.Career: Fogle rose to fame in April 1999 with his significant weight loss story. Jared lost 245 pounds in a single year which he attributed to his self-designed “Subway diet”. This led to his role as a major spokesperson for the company. In 1998, he stood 6′ 2″ and weighed 425 pounds, morbidly obese as a twenty-year-old junior at Indiana University. At the time he was consuming around 10,000 calories per day, the number of calories recommended for five people. His story started when he saw an advertisement about how Subway subs contained 6 grams of fat or less. He picked up a nutritional brochure to develop his own diet. He changed his eating habits by eating smaller portions of Subway sandwiches that were free of high-calorie condiments like mayonnaise. By following his own regime and walking to class rather than taking the bus, he lost an incredible 245 pounds, and continued to lose weight after that first year. Thanks to a friend, who was an editor of the Indiana Daily Student, Fogle’s weight-loss story was unveiled.Eventually, Subway’s national ad agency read about Jared’s successful diet and offered to have him lead their national campaign in early 2000. As a test, Subway ran a regional television ad campaign. The first ad aired on January 1, 2000, introducing Fogle and his story with the following disclaimer: “The Subway diet, combined with a lot of walking, worked for Jared. We’re not saying this is for everyone. You should check with your doctor before starting any diet program. But it worked for Jared.” The introductory test ads were a success, and Fogle began appearing in many TV commercials as well as sponsored in-store appearances around the country. In 2002, Fogle was the subject of an episode of “Southpark” called “Jared Has Aides.” He has stated that even though the episode had “typically tasteless humor,” he was flattered to be the subject of the show.In February 2008, a Subway campaign called Tour de Pants celebrated Fogle maintaining his incredible weight loss for a decade. As part of the campaign, Fogle retired his now-famous pair of 62 inch pants to a museum at the end of the advertising tour.He worked as a major spokesperson for the company for over 15 years until he was arrested by the FBI for possessing and distributing child pornography, and the sexual abuse of a minor. Prior to his arrest, he was also part of the Jared & Friends School Tour, sponsored by the American Heart Association. His role in Subway afforded him many opportunities such as appearances in WWE in 2009 and 2011.  He also appeared in the “Sharknado” film series. He had a cameo appearance in “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” but his scenes were cut from the Syfy Channel broadcast version a week before the premiere, when his house was searched by the FBI.  By 2013, Fogle had filmed over 300 commercials and he continued to make appearances and speeches for the company. Subway attributed a third of its growth sales to Fogle, with revenue having tripled from 1998 to 2011. Jared was a guest on numerous TV shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live. He was also an author and was working as a motivational speaker traveling the country about 200 days a year.Fogle also established the Jared Foundation, a nonprofit focused on raising awareness of childhood obesity through educational programs and tools provided to parents, schools, and community leaders.Child Pornography Arrest: In July 2015, Jared’s home was raided as part of an FBI investigation into child pornography. The raid was connected to a former employee of Jared’s charity who had been arrested. Jared was later charged with possessing and distributing child pornography and traveling across state lines to have sex with minors. Subway severed ties with Jared after the FBI raid and his arrest, and the company and Jared announced that they had mutually agreed to sever their relationship. On August 19, 2015 Jared Fogle pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. He agreed to pay $1.4 million in restitution to 14 victims, and is now serving a 15-year prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood near Littleton, Colorado. His earliest possible release date is July 11, 2029, a month before his 52nd birthday.Personal Life: Fogle was married to pediatric nurse Elizabeth Christie from 2001-2007. He became engaged to teacher Kathleen McLaughlin in November 2009. They married in 2010 and had two children together. On August 19, 2015, following Fogle’s charges of sex with minors and child pornography, McLaughlin announced she was seeking a divorce. Fogle reportedly paid his ex-wife a $7 million divorce settlement.
