Ishbia’s business, United Shore, launched The United Shore Professional Baseball League in 2015 after they acquired the naming rights to the independent baseball league that competes at Jimmy John’s Field in Utica, Michigan.

Ishbia created two websites in 2018 under the domain names FindAMortgageBroker.com and BeAMortgageBroker.com to support independent mortgage brokers and foster the wholesale channel’s growth.

Ishbia Siblings Bought The Phoenix Suns

According to Forbes, which has validated an ESPN report, Ishbia and his brother Justin Ishbia have agreed to pay a record amount to acquire control of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, valuing the franchise at $4 billion. Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA will also be a part of the deal.

The Suns and the Mercury have been up for sale since September, following charges against controlling owner Robert Sarver that shook the franchise and led to Sarver’s one-year suspension and $10 million punishment from the NBA.

Forbes valued the Suns at $2.7 billion in October. In 2004, Sarver paid $401 million to buy the team. Billionaire mortgage lender Mat Ishbia will acquire the Phoenix Suns and the WNBA’s Mercury for a record $4 billion, Ishbia and current owner Robert Sarver said on Tuesday.

According to ESPN, a vital investment will be made by his brother Justin, a founding partner of Shore Capital, who will also take on the role of alternate governor. All of Sarver’s investment and a portion of that of minority partners will be included in Ishbia’s acquisition of more than 50% of the teams.

The siblings are now the owner of the Suns after seeking NBA and NFL franchises in recent years. Ishbia joined the Michigan State Spartans’ 2000 national championship squad as a walk-on.
