Julia Montes is a Filipino actress and commercial model known for her early performance in Goin’ Bulilit. Mara Hautea Schnittka known professionally as Julia Montes was born on March 19, 1995, in Pandacan, Manila, Philippines, to a Filipino mother, Gemma Hautea, and a German father, Martin Schnittka.

Julia Montes’ father abandoned the family when she was still a baby. Her deaf mother and grandmother, Flory Hautea raised her alongside her two younger brothers, Patrick and Paolo.

Julia later reunited with her birth father, Martin Schnittka, at Bellini’s, Cubao, Quezon City in December 2016. With regards to her education, Julia Montes completed her high school education at the Blessed Hope Christian School in 2011.
